Jackson,
11 and Samson, 8 - nephewsBoth boys are avid fans and have produced their own mosaic masterpieces. Their interest has progressed since I made each of them a personalised star to hang on their Christmas tree in 2000, to the point that they now make their own pieces and provide critical reviews of my work.
Samson delights in telling me "it's beeoouutiful Aunty Tam" while Jackson has a firm belief that my skill would enable me to "even put Humpty Dumpty back together".
My boys are growing up. Jackson is now 11 and Samson is 8 - both still bring much pleasure to their Aunty Tammy.
Frank,
6 - Scottish FoldFranks' favourite occupation is to sit on my worktable (translate this as sit in my cutting tray or on my tools) and provide a commentary on how a piece is developing. He is extremely miffed when, for safety reasons, I remove him from the studio when I am involved in a lot of pre cutting of materials. But, getting a cat, let alone a Scottish Fold, to wear protective eyewear is a challenge.
Rennie,
8- BirmanRennie tests each and every piece of cut tesserae in the hope that they will turn out to be food. After all, tesserae sliding across the worktable sound a little like crunchy cat food!
Rennie wasn't Smash!Mosaics' only muse, at first - there was also Xena, a 5 year-old Singapura. Xena has since passed on, but to ensure she is not forgotten, we've put together this little tribute page for her.
Poppy,
9 - Scottish Fold (and "Aunty" to Frank)Poppy's chief role is to survey proceedings from afar until packaging and dispatch is required, at which point she takes a "paws on" approach and tests each and every package or box. Christmas gift-wrapping is also a strength! (More information about Scottish Folds at the Tartan Cattery site).

Jemma,
17 - Norfolk TerrierThis dynamic "old girl" is happy to survey the activities in the studio, coming into her element when activities move outdoors to installation and siting finished pieces in the garden! You never know when a long forgotten bone might be uncovered! She also accounts for the occasional rearrangement of the City Chicken and the City Chicken's Cousin.
Unfortunately Jemma's daughty Daisy has now gone to doggy heaven!
