Henrietta Chicken was a firm favourite of visitors to the Brisbane Craft Fair and has starred in both the Brisbane Courier Mail and the local newspaper.

She uses a combination of materials to embellish a basic concrete garden ornament. German glass teddy bear eyes were used to achieve a realistic look and were embellished with small glass beads for added detail. Feather detail was applied through the use of hand cut, black ceramic tile and a black and white dinner plate, while bronzed glass was used to work the neck of the chicken.

A final level of detail was added through the application of a three-colour grouting process. Not for the faint hearted, this saw grouting take place over a number of days in order to allow for masking and grouting of specific areas and the application of three separate colours!
